After being alive for 200 years Frankenstein’s creature is brought into the modern world in this fantasy adventure. The film sees the creature, now called ‘Adam’ (Aaron Eckhart), battle with gargoyles and demons commanded by Naberious (Bill Nighy) who it trying to unlock the secrets of Frankenstein’s creation helped by his team of scientists.

It’s a far cry from Mary Shelley’s original tale and quite honestly didn’t deliver for me. The dialogue was too wooden with too many long winded statements of fact rather than flowing conversation.

The sound effects and stunts are good which is a positive. The many ‘booms’ from the speakers helped to keep me awake during what is a sadly dull film.

Was I expecting too much from this film? Perhaps, but with a 12A rating the film is a useful introduction to tale of Frankenstein and his creature for children.
