Witnesses sought after boy assaulted outside Castlefield mosque

On the 31st March 2014 at 10.36pm a 15-year old boy was allegedly assaulted outside the mosque in Rutland Avenue, Castlefield at the junction with Booker Lane.

The boy was leaving the mosque with a friend when they saw three men who they thought they knew and approached them. After a brief exchange one of these men punched the victim on the side of the head. Another male is also thought to have also punched the victim before the third male separated the group.

The victim and friend then ran away. The victim suffered severe swelling and bruising around his left eye and received treatment at Wexham Park Hospital. He has since been discharged.

One of the offenders was an Asian male, in his late twenties, of medium build with distinctive facial hair that was thick on the sides of his face but thinner in the middle with a goatee-style beard.

The second offender was Asian, in his late twenties, with a skinny build.

The third man was Asian, of stocky build, wearing all grey clothes.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, CCTV footage has been released and can be viewed on the Thames Valley Police website together with contact details if you can help the police with their enquiries.
