Hands Up For A Hand Back of lost services from SaveWycombeHospital

The ‘SaveWycombeHospital’ campaign has created a new mosaic poster to publicise their ‘Hand Back Our Hospital Hand Campaign‘.

The mosaic was created using hand photographs of people from across the local community, including Gabby Logan, Tim Vincent, The Apprentice candidate Gabrielle Omar, Justin Akpa from The Taste and Nomakhosi from The Voice and forms a central part of the Hand Back Our Hospital Hand Campaign.

Over one hundred photographs were received and two mosaics were created using AndreaMosaic software, the mosaic posters will help unite people who want hospital services at Wycombe restored.

The hand mosaic is also being displayed in shop and home windows by supporters as part of #HandsUpForAHandBack.  By displaying the poster it’s an easy way to show that you care. If you wish to display your own copy of the mosaic just click on either of the poster images on this page to download a high resolution version ready to print out and display in your window.

Postcards of a second mosaic in the image of our hospital buildings (shown below) have been sent to our Health Secretary, Department of Health, NHS England, Chiltern CCG and the Trust asking them to liaise and restore our hospital to a fully functioning one.

This same image has received over 500 retweets on the ‘SaveWycombeHospital’ Twitter account which currently has 1065 followers, with the (much appreciated) support for the cause continuing to grow.

Several celebrities have interacted with the SaveWycombeHospital Twitter account and helped raise the profile of the cause. These include Debbie McGee, Linford Christie, Fiona Phillips, Steve Hackett, Tim Payne, Christian Wade, Tom Kerridge to name a few. The account is currently followed by Fern Britton, Gordon Ramsay and Kerry Katona. We have people up and down the country rooting for us to do well.

To help advertise local businesses that support us and to continue to help raise the profile of our cause, a ‘Where’s our mosaic’ activity is also planned whereby people can take a picture of businesses displaying our mosaic and send them in.

Another part of the ‘Hand Back Our Hospital Hand Campaign’ is to gain signatures for Fair Funding for Buckinghamshire’ petition which can be found on the website www.savewycombehospital.wordpress.com or by clicking here. This petition is designed to address what is believed to be the underlying cause of our issues at Wycombe Hospital namely lack of funding.

Through the mosaic posters, ‘Fair Funding for Buckinghamshire’ petition and the ‘Hand Back Our Hospital Hand Campaign‘ more people are talking. More people are sharing experiences. More people are learning what Wycombe Hospital does and doesn’t have. More people have learned how invaluable hospital services at High Wycombe have been.

Heartfelt stories have been received, and for those happy to share their experiences, these have been sent to MPs, Commissioners and the Scrutiny Committee via SOHS chairman Terry Price.

A YouTube video using anonymous snippets of people’s comments is also being planned as are other projects and campaigns to raise awareness of the need for a fully functioning hospital in High Wycombe.

Meeting dates and other petitions have been promoted (including the one by Cllr Hayday to CEO Anne Eden).

The plan is to get louder until we are heard.

Keep tuned in to @HandBackOurHosp, https://www.facebook.com/groups/savewycombehospital/ and www.savewycombehospital.wordpress.com to follow the progress of the campaign to SaveWycombeHospital. People can also email in to [email protected] and will be kept updated via email once they’ve signed the ‘Fair Funding for Buckinghamshire’ petition.
