The first new railway station to be constructed in Oxfordshire in seventy one years has reached a major milestone with the completion of the building structure of Oxford Parkway station.

Construction on the station began at the end of October 2014.

The new station will form part of Chiltern Railways project to link London Marylebone to Oxford. Now the building structure is complete work can begin on the interior of the new station.

When completed Oxford Parkway will be adjacent to the existing Water Eaton park and ride site just off the A34 and close to the A44.

The new station has been designed as a modern transport hub and is expected to be hugely attractive to those living in north Oxfordshire wanting to escape the congestion of Oxford city centre.

Transport integration is a key feature of the new station, it will have over one hundred cycle spaces, more than eight hundred car parking spaces and access to the many buses serving the park and ride site.
