Exeter City 0-2 Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travelled to Devon to play Exeter City on Saturday 26th September 2015.

Exeter stamped their authority on the match during the first half but were unable to gain the advantage of a goal. Wycombe came out positively after half time and were rewarded with the first goal of the game from a Joe Jacobson free kick twenty yards out after Luke O’Nein was fouled.

Seven minutes later Garry Thompson gave Wycombe their second goal which sealed victory for the Blues and earned some desperately needed points.

After today’s victory Wycombe find themselves in second place in League Two with eighteen points from nine games.

The match stats show that Wycombe’s victory was well earned against stiff opposition. Exeter managed 53% possession and fifteen shots on goal of which only two were on target. Wycombe managed just seven attempts on goal of which two were on target, both of which were goals. There were twenty four fouls in the game, eighteen committed by Wycombe players and six by players from Exeter.

The attendance at St. James Park was 3,639 (360 from Wycombe).
