13,586 vehicles recorded breaking the speed limit over a two week period in New Road, Penn

13,586 vehicles were recorded as breaking the speed limit in a two week period by a speed monitor set up in New Road, Penn.

Over 1,000 vehicles were travelling faster than 43mph and one car was recorded as travelling at 85mph.

During the last full week of September police set up a speed trap in New Road and, over a fifty minute period, issued warnings to 16 people breaking the speed limit.

The police then moved to outside the Horse and Jockey where, over another 50 minute period, 40 drivers were caught speeding most of whom were living at addresses in the village.
