Diesel locomotive caught fire at High Wycombe Railway Station

High Wycombe Railway Station

Fire broke out in the engine compartment of diesel locomotive at platform 2 of High Wycombe Railway Station, Amersham Hill, High Wycombe on the morning of Friday 23rd October 2015.

Firefighters were called at 11.17am. Two fire appliances with crews attended from High Wycombe fire station as well as one from Beaconsfield fire station and one from Marlow fire station along with an officer.

The train was safely evacuated and the fire was extinguished by an on-board Aqueous Film-Forming Foam fire control system.

As a result of the fire disruption occurred to train services with some services cancelled.

The station has since re-opened.
