Police launch witness appeal after player is assaulted during football match in Stokenchurch

A witness appeal has been launched by Thames Valley Police following an incident at a football match in Stokenchurch during which a player sustained serious injuries.

On Saturday 20th February 2016, between 2.00pm and 3.30pm, football a match was taking place at Longburrow Hall playing fields during which the victim, a 22 year old man, was assaulted by a man on the pitch and sustained serious leg injuries.

The victim was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital where he received treatment for injuries to both of his legs. He has since been discharged from hospital

The offender is described as white, aged 6ft, aged in his early twenties, of athletic build, with blond hair.

Investigating officer Det Con Suzie Price, from High Wycombe Force CID, said: ‘I would like to speak to witnesses who were watching the match who may have seen the assault. I would particularly like to speak to anyone who was filming the match on their mobile phone or other device and who has footage of the incident.
