A413/A404 Whielden Lane junction on the Amersham bypass to be resurfaced

| September 28, 2016

On the evening of Thursday 29th September 2016 Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) is to start work resurfacing a major junction on the Amersham bypass.

Costing around £150,000 the work includes includes resurfacing the roundabout at the A413/A404 Whielden Lane junction.

The works will take place over the following dates and times:

  • Thursday 29th September 2016 from 7.00pm to 6.00am on Friday 30th September 2016.
  • Friday 30th September 2016 from 7.00pm to 2.00pm on Saturday 1st October 2016.
  • Saturday 1st October 2016 from 7.00pm to 2.00pm on Sunday 2nd October 2016.

The working times on Saturday and Sunday have been extended to ensure sufficient time is given for the newly laid material to harden before being fully open to traffic. Temporary signs advising drivers of this important requirement will be erected on site.

During the aforementioned time periods Whielden Lane (A404) will be closed to through traffic and a signed diversion route via High Wycombe and Beaconsfield will be in operation.

To help reduce the impact of the roadworks on users of the A413 there will be temporary 2-way traffic signals in use along the A413 to maintain access to through traffic between Shardeloes Roundabout and Gore Hill Roundabout. At each closure point along the A404 and A413 help will be on hand to advise drivers.

In addition to the resurfacing works TfB will also carry out maintenance work to the street lights and drainage around the junction.
