Bob said: ‘It’s been an honour to serve as acting chief executive for the past 17 months and a privilege to be appointed permanently. We have much work to focus on and I’m very pleased to be part of taking our two Councils forward in these challenging, but exciting, times.

Bob was considered the best candidate following a Member-led selection process which attracted high performing applicants from all over the country.

Chiltern District Council Leader Cllr Isobel Darby said: ‘I am delighted Bob will be remaining on board and will continue to bring his strong, calm leadership to our two Councils at this critical time, with local government nationally under huge pressures. We have a number of major projects underway as we continue to invest in our local communities and to have Bob at the helm is a real bonus.

South Bucks District Council Leader Cllr Ralph Bagge, said: ‘Bob was by far the best  candidate competing against some tough competition. As we look forward to the challenges ahead, he will bring continuity and stability to our joint and partnership working programme.
