Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 Leyton Orient

| December 17, 2016

On Saturday 17th December 2016 Leyton Orient were welcomed to Adams Park in High Wycombe for a League Two game with Wycombe Wanderers.

Wycombe started the match in a positive manner when, in the ninth minute, Scott Kashket came close to scoring but his shot went to the left of the Leyton Orient goal.

The Blues were by far the more dominant team making many attempts on the Leyton goal but the ball failed to go in, it was surprising that the scoreline was still goalless at half time.

It was in the fiftieth minute that the Chairboys made the breakthrough they had been looking for. Scott Kashket took a left footed shot from the centre of the box which found the bottom left corner of the Leyton Orient goal giving Wycombe the lead they deserved.

The visitors were unable to come back handing Wycombe three well deserved points and an eight successive win in a row.

The match stats show that Leyton Orient achieved 54% possession but only managed two shots on goal, none of which were on target. Five of Wycombe’s sixteen shots on goal were on target. Twenty six fouls marred the game, twelve by Leyton Orient players and fourteen by Wycombe.

After today’s game Wycombe remain in sixth position in League Two with thirty four points from twenty games.

The attendance at Adams Park was 4,517 (458 from Leyton Orient).
