Collision between HGV’s on the M40 leaves two men seriously injured

A serious road traffic collision between two HGV’s on the M40 has resulted in an appeal for witnesses by Police.

The collision took place at about 10.05am on Thursday 5th July 2018 underneath Junction 4 of the M40 (High Wycombe) on the Northbound carriageway.

A white Mercedes lorry collided with the rear of another blue lorry. A 49 year old man driving the blue lorry sustained minor injuries, he was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital and was discharged the same day without requiring treatment.

A 57 year old man driving the white Mercedes lorry and his passenger, a 43 year old man, suffered serious injuries. Both men suffered broken bones and the 43 year old also suffered a head injury. Both men were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Investigating officer, PC Sandra Terry, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Bicester Howes lane station, said: ‘This was a serious road traffic collision where two of the men involved suffered serious injuries.

We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything to come forward and help us with our investigation.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone with information about the collision that may help their enquiry is asked to call 101 quoting reference number ‘43180204409’.
