Bus stop closures and diversions for the week ahead – Mon 11th Feb 2019

Week commencing Monday 11th February 2019 the following Bus Stop closures and diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Church Street, Marsh Gibbon : Thursday 29th November 2018 to Friday 15th March 2019. Due to Thames Water main replacement works this road will be closed and route 18 will need to divert. The nearest served bus stops are on Bicester Road, alternatively passengers can wait on Millfield Avenue and hail clearly to the driver.

High Street, Cheddington : Friday 11th January 2019 to Monday 25th February 2019. Due to Anglian Water works the junction of Wellington Place and Cheddington Road in Pitstone bus route 164 will need to divert via Ivinghoe. All stops will be served except on the High Street, Cheddington. Passengers are advised to use the stops at ‘The Green’ instead, due to the length of the diversion some delay may be expected.

Quainton Road, Waddesdon : Monday 21st January 2019 to Tuesday 19th February 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm (not weekends). Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire footway surfacing this road will be closed. Bus route 16 will divert via Waddesdon High Street and Station Road. Passengers using the stops on Quainton Road are advised to use either ‘the Lion’ or the ‘Baker Street’ stops in the High Street instead.

Cressex Road, High Wycombe : Monday 21st January 2019 to Friday 3rd May 2019. Due to road configuration works this road will be closed on either side of the Cressex link/Coronation Road junction during this period. School day bus routes 643 and 655 will need to divert via the A4010 and the stops on Cressex Road between New Road/John Hall Way and the Marlow Road junction will not be served.

The Broadway, Chesham : Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th February 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the Sunday Carousel 1A buses will not serve the Broadway stops on these two Sundays. The nearest alternative stops are on Broad Street or Red Lion Street.

Lavric Road, Aylesbury : Monday 11th to Friday 15th February 2019. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed and routes 11 and 11A will need to divert via Ellen Road, Hannon Road and Churchill Avenue. Stops will not be served on Alham Road or Lavric Road. The 11A will additionally not serve the ‘Hampden Gardens’ and ‘Carrington Road’ stops on Churchill Avenue. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chalgrave Walk’ stop on Churchill Avenue for routes 9 or 11, or opposite the shelter on Ellen Road (hail clearly for the bus).

Dunton Road, Stewkley : Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th February 2019. Due to Anglian Water works part of Stewkley Road, Cublington will be closed. From Stewkley buses will divert via Wing Road, Stewkley Road to Wing and then Cublington Road/Wing Road to normal route. The ‘Kiln Farm’ stops on Dunton Road will not be served.

Lark Vale, Watermead, Aylesbury : Monday 11th to Friday 22nd February 2019 (excluding weekends). Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works to clear the bollards routes 6 and 7 will need to divert and will not serve the hail and ride section on Partridge Way and Lark Vale; or the ‘Gull Way’ stops on Watermeadow and the stops on Cleveland Road. After serving Dunsham Lane the buses will turn left onto the Elmhurst Road and then travel to Watermead by Buckingham Road, turning at the first stops on Watermeadow.

Castle Street, High Wycombe : Friday 15th February 2019 to Friday 1st March 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the outbound (towards Amersham Hill) side of the carriageway will be closed. As such buses will not serve Stop V. Buses will divert via Corporation Street, High Street and Crendon Street.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Aylesbury Road, Wing : Monday 4th to Friday 15th February 2019 (excluding weekends) 7.30 pm to 5.30am. Due to BT Openreach works, both ‘Church Street’ stops will be suspended on these nights. Evening route 150 passengers are advised to use the stops at ‘The Dove’ on Leighton Road instead.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Monday 4th to Friday 15th February 2019 (excluding weekends) 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to construction works in the vicinity the two ‘Forester’s Arms’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the alternatives on Beaconsfield Road at ‘Templewood Lane’ or ‘Kennedy Close’.

Lower Road, Aylesbury : Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th February 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media, the ‘Ambulance Station’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Main Gate’ stop instead just inside the Stoke Mandeville Hospital entrance.

Wycombe Road, Prestwood : Monday 11th to Friday 15th February 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the stops at ‘Holy Trinity Church’ will both be suspended. Cadent are providing temporary stops nearby instead.

Chiltern Avenue, Amersham : Friday 15th February 2019, 9.30am to 4.00pm. Due to Affinity Water works both ‘Leisure Centre’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Woodside Road instead.

A41, Westcott : Friday 15th February 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works in the vicinity both ‘Westcott Turn’ stops for travelling away from Aylesbury will be suspended between these times.

Castle Street, High Wycombe : Friday 15th February 2019 to Friday 15th March 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the outbound stop V stop will be suspended during these dates. Buses will divert (see the diversions part on this page). The nearest served stops are on the High Street, Crendon Street or Totteridge Road.
