People’s Vote Street Stall in the Market Square, Aylesbury on Sat 16th Feb 2019

| February 14, 2019

Pro-European campaigners will be taking to the streets of Aylesbury on Sat 16th Feb 2019 as part of the national People’s Vote campaign.

The People’s Vote Street Stall will be located in the Market Square (near Metro Bank), Aylesbury from 11.00am on Saturday 16th February 2019.

The street stall is being organised by supporters of the People’s Vote Campaign, just before the (latest) upcoming ‘meaningful vote’ in Parliament. As well as Aylesbury, events are taking place all over the country with thousands of activists and supporters involved.

Opinion polls consistently show a clear majority of voters in most constituencies across Britain want their say on Brexit in a People’s Vote indeed the latest Kantar/TNS polls published on Wednesday 13th February 2019 reports a 55% lead for the remain campaign.

This week, motor car manufacturer Ford joined the other car manufacturers in issuing warnings over a no deal Brexit.

The reality of what Brexit means is becoming clearer every day :

  • Household bills already going up due to lower value of pound.
  • Businesses are cutting production or moving abroad.
  • Jobs are being lost.
  • The NHS facing a recruitment crisis as a lot of EU doctors and nurses have left.
  • Potential supply issues for food and medicines.

Hélène Lens, Open Britain Aylesbury Leader, said: ‘The reality is that what was promised in the referendum two and a half years ago, simply cannot be delivered. No-one in government or parliament agrees on what the people wanted of Brexit.

Brexit will mean negotiations go on forever, as successive governments try to make sense of what makes no-sense at all. And whatever form Brexit takes, it will leave us in a much worse position than the special deal we already have as part of the European Union.

That’s why the final decision on Brexit must now be handed back to the people – because only they can sort this mess out.
