Fire broke out at a public house in Marlow

Fire broke out at a public house in Marlow during the late evening of Sunday 15th September 2019.

The fire affected the first floor and roof space of The Royal Oak in Frieth Road, Bovingdon Green, Marlow.

Firefighters were called to the incident at 7.57pm. Two fire appliances with crews attended from High Wycombe fire station, one from Beaconsfield fire station, one from Henley fire station, two from Maidenhead fire station, one from Windsor fire station, one from Wheatley fire station and one from Woodstock fire station. Five officers also attended bringing the total of fire brigade personnel in attendance to more than 40 people. Relief crews from Marlow, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe fire station attended the scene later.

A main jet, two hose reels, six sets of breathing apparatus and a turntable ladder were used by the firefighters during the operation to extinguish the fire. The fire fighters gave oxygen to a woman who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
