From Monday 10th February 2020, temporary traffic lights will be installed on the A41 at construction site of new Westcott roundabout.

Contractors building the new roundabout on the A41 at Westcott are ahead of schedule and will start excavations immediately next to the Bicester Road from Monday 10th February 2020.

As a result temporary traffic lights will be needed at the High Street junction 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday until Friday 28th February 2020 However the construction team say they will work hard to finish early and remove the traffic lights as soon as it’s safe to do so.

The temporary traffic lights will not be needed at weekends.

Deputy Transport Cabinet Member at Buckinghamshire County Council, Paul Irwin, said: ‘I appreciate temporary lights aren’t flavour of the month for drivers, but we do need to keep motorists and contractors safe with good sight lines while construction work is so close to the main road.

My apologies for any inconvenience, and I’m assured the contractors will do their best to keep disruption to a minimum.

Paul also said the roundabout, which is due to be completed by the autumn, will not only significantly improve how the junction operates but also create opportunities to expand the area’s economy.
