Elderly man suffers ‘serious injuries’ during robbery in Aylesbury

An elderly man suffered ‘serious injuries’ during a robbery in Aylesbury on Tuesday 17th March 2020.

Between about 9.50pm and 10.10pm an 87 year old man left the Paddy Power bookmakers in Kingsbury Square, Aylesbury. The elderly man was walking along Granville Street when an unknown number of offenders approached him from behind and hit him, causing him to fall onto the pavement face first.

The elderly man’s wallet containing a bank card and £10 was then stolen.

As a result of the incident the 87 year old man suffered a cranial bleed and also some of his teeth were knocked out when he hit the ground as well as extensive swelling to the right hand side of his face. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigator Hannah Mitchell of Aylesbury CID, said: ‘This incident has left an elderly man with serious injuries, and I am appealing for anyone with any information relating to it to come forward and speak to us.
