A leaking gas main caused disruption in High Wycombe on Wednesday 8th April 2020.

At 11.45am firefighters were called to the incident at the junction of Desborough Avenue and Marlow Road in High Wycombe. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station. An officer also attended.

The firefighters established a 100m cordon and road closures were also put in place with nearby shops and a filling station also closed. As a precaution residents living in nearby flats were evacuated. Other residents were advised to close their doors and windows while gas engineers worked as the site to mend the leaking gas main.

Representatives from Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Highways also attended the scene.
