Green Street in High Wycombe closed following spillage in road

Green Street in High Wycombe was closed for several hours on the morning of Friday 9th August 2019.

The road was closed following a spillage of sand believed to be connected with construction work at a building site in Leigh Street.

Bus services diverted along West Wycombe Road then down Oakridge Road or Desborough Park Road to avoid the road closure.

Mechanical sweepers were deployed in the final stages of the clear up operation.

The spillage was soon cleared and deliveries of building material resumed to the construction site.

Traces of sand from the spillage stretched as far a Desborough Road.

The road was fully reopened to traffic shortly before midday.
