Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 22nd June 2020

Week commencing Monday 22nd June 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Saturday 4th July 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital meeting 1 / 1A journeys. Whaddon Road, Newton Longville : Monday 8th June 2020 to Monday 27th July 2020. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. All route 50 buses will enter Newton Longville via Westbrook Avenue and will turn back round at the Crooked Billet. Bus stops on Whaddon Road will not be served.

A413, Aylesbury Road, Swanbourne : Monday 22nd June 2020, 8.30am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between these times. Bus service X60 will divert between Whitchurch and via Oving and Granborough on this day and will not serve the stops on Sheep Street in Winslow.

Old Rectory Lane, Denham : Monday 22nd June 2020, 8.30am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between these times. Bus route 581 will need to divert and will not serve the ‘Community Centre’ stop on this day.

Chearsley Road, Long Crendon : Monday 22nd June 2020 to Friday 3rd July 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. From Aylesbury bus route 110 (and the evening 111 journey) will run as normal until Cuddington which it will enter via Cuddington Road / Aylesbury Road, turn down Dadbrook and then divert via the A418 and B4011 into Long Crendon. As such the following areas will not be served:

  • Chearsley Village.
  • Chearsley Road, Chilton Road or Carters Lane in Long Crendon – please use the stops on the Square or the Bicester Road instead.
  • ‘The Green’ stops in Cuddington – please use Dadbrook Road instead.
  • The Thame bound ‘Dinton Castle’ stop please use the 280 bus service instead.

Church Street / Missenden Road, Chesham : Tuesday 23rd June 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this junction will be closed on this day. Bus route 177 will need to divert via the Amersham Road, Chesham Bois and will not serve stops on Church Street, Missenden Road, Frith Hill, Hyde Heath or Copperkins Lane on this day.

A4155, Henley Road, Marlow : Thursday 25th June 2020, 9.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between this hours. Bus routes 800 and 850 will run as normal between High Wycombe and the stops on Chapel Street in Marlow. The buses will then turn back round via Oxford Road, Queens Road and Dean Street; and divert via the A404 and A4130 into Henley (and vice versa). As such stops between Oxford Road in Marlow and Henley will not be served.

A413, Bourton Road roundabout, Buckingham : Monday 22nd to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the roundabout will be closed. Buses will follow a diversion route but all stops will continue to be served.

Bus Stop Suspensions

A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Giles : Tuesday 17th March 2020 to Wednesday 1st July 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 both ‘Cherry Acre’ and the ‘Green Meadows’ stop towards Gerrards Cross will be suspended during this period. Please use the ‘Misbourne Avenue’ or ‘King’s Road’ stops instead.

Boundary Road, High Wycombe : Monday 15th to Monday 22nd June 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the two ‘Hedge Lea’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Knaves Beech’ or ‘Boundary Place’ stops instead.

Main Street, Walter’s Ash : Friday 19th to Tuesday 23rd June 2020. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water the ‘Kilnwood’ stop towards Princes Risborough will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Grimms Meadow’ stop on New Road instead.

Station Road, Quainton : Thursday 18th to Monday 22nd June 2020. Due to works on behalf of Openreach, the ‘Memorial Hall’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Green’ stop.
