BARRACLOUGH ON THE BALL – Blues must win to survive
Let’s face it Wycombe Wanderers are in a spot of bother.
Even the most enthusiastic of supporters will surely agree this seasons performance has been disappointing to say the least.
Last weeks defeat pushed the Blues to within a whisker relegation zone and potentially an exit from the Football League. It’s a far cry from last seasons modestly respectable fifteenth and mid table finishing position in League Two.
Next Saturday’s game against Accrington is likely to be a key test of Wycombe’s desire to survive in League Two. Lose and the Blues could see themselves enter the dark mire at the foot of the League with all that entails. Win and the best the team can hope for is perhaps to put a slight breathing distance between themselves and their current precarious position.
The last time Wycombe met Accrington, it was a 1-1 draw. That result won’t be good enough next Saturday. Accrington have won their last two games, both away and will be looking to make a hat trick of away wins.
It’s times like these the club needs the supporters to get behind it. Can we afford to see the club go back down to the Conference? I hope not.
Come On You Blues!
