Landslip causes rail disruption

| February 14, 2014

There is currently disruption to Chiltern Railways services between Leamington Spa and Banbury due to a landslip.

A replacement bus service is operating between Leamington Spa and Banbury with one train per hour running between Birmingham Snow Hill to Leamington Spa and one train per hour from Birmingham Moor Street to Leamington Spa. The Birmingham to Leamington Spa shuttles are running as normal.

Cross Country trains are not running Southbound but they have worked with Network Rail to run one train an hour Northbound through the area.

Chiltern Railways have two Marylebone to Banbury services running every hour with Stratford Upon Avon services terminating at Banbury.

Chiltern Railways tickets are valid on Virgin Trains services in both directions between London Marylebone and Birmingham New Street.

There is currently no estimate for the resumption of normal service however engineers are on site assessing the situation.
