Signal problems caused rail disruption
Rail travellers on services to and from London Marylebone experienced disruption last Wednesday evening because of a power cut in the Banbury area at 18.00.
The power cut affected thousands of homes together with the railway signalling which meant that trains could not pass in either direction. However the train service was restored after 23.30 the same day.
On the same day commuters on the Aylesbury via Amersham line were also hit by signalling problems resulting in delays of approximately one hour before London Underground restored the signals to working order.
