Valentines Day armed robbers sentenced

| February 28, 2014

The two men who carried out an aggravated burglary at a residential home in Wycombe Road, Prestwood on the evening of Friday 14th February 2014 have been sentenced to more than five years and four months imprisonment each.

A 41 year old male from Hayes and a 34 year old male from Northolt forced their way into the home armed with a handgun and knife and threatened the residents, before marching them upstairs and making threats. Young children were in the house at the time.

The pair stole gold jewellery worth £3,000 and then took car keys and mobile phones.

Uniformed response officers, armed response and a dog unit quickly attended in hazardous weather conditions. One offender was stopped and arrested a mile away from the scene. The other offender tried to evade capture by hiding in a nearby field but was tracked by the police dog.

Both men were charged on Monday 17th February 2014 and on Monday 24th February pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary.
