Wycombe’s short winning streak came to a juddering end on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat to play-off chasing York.
Ryan Bowman gave York their first goal from the penalty spot in the 7th minute after debutant Sam Togwell fouled Josh Carson.
Carson provided the home team with an unassailable lead in the 45th minute after receiving a Will Hayhurst pass and shooting from the edge of the box.
After Togwell committed a second bookable offence in injury time Wycombe were down to ten men.
York were by far the more dominant team with 55% possession and five shots on target to Wycombe’s two.
Despite not coming away with any points Wycombe now find themselves in 20th position in League Two with 41 points equal to Accrington however a better Goal Difference keeps them hanging precariously three places from the relegation zone.
