Life at the wrong end of the League Two table is proving to have more downs that ups for Wycombe at the moment.
At half time Wycombe had managed to hold Newport to 0-0 in what was a fairly even first half. Things unravelled in the second half when a long throw in from Ryan Jackson gave Jolley a goal scoring chance for Newport from a position just a couple of yards from the Wycombe goal. With the Blues failing to clear from the goal line Newport found themselves one goal up in the sixty eighth minute.
Things went from bad to worse when, in the seventy third minute, Zebroski’s powerful shot from 30ft out whistled past the Wycombe goalkeeper to give Newport an unassailable two goal lead.
Despite having 56% of the possession Wycombe only managed one shot on target to Newport’s four.
As another point scoring chance disappeared Wycombe now find themselves in twenty second position in the League table with only goal difference saving them from the relegation zone.
The attendance was 2,838.
