Today’s match was one of the most important games in Wycombe’s history especially with a possible exit from the Football League on the cards if they lost.
Wycombe started positively with Sam Wood scoring the first goal in the sixth minute from close range. A forty second minute penalty from Steven Craig gave Wycombe a comfortable lead going into half time.
McClure scored Wycombe’s third in the sixty second minute winning the match for Wycombe and ensuring they will still be playing League Football next season.
Finishing in twenty sixth position in League Two with fifty points, and only just above the relegation zone thanks to a better goal difference is not the ideal end to a season. There are obviously big problems at Wycombe but the summer break gives breathing space for the Blues to get their act together ready for next season.
The attendance was 3,149.
