New Chairman appointed at Wycombe District Council

A new Chairman and Vice Chairman of Wycombe District Council were appointed at the annual Council meeting which took place in the evening on Monday 12th May 2014.

Councillor Lesley Clarke OBE was appointed as Chairman with Councillor Ian McEnnis as her deputy.

Both will serve in the roles for the next twelve months during which time between them they are likely to representing Wycombe District Council in a formal capacity at over three hundred engagements as well as impartially chairing meetings of the Council.

In addition to the Annual Meeting a Special meeting of the Council officially recognised two former district councillors, Peter Cartwright and Richard Pushman, who were each made Honorary Aldermen in recognition of their long service and extraordinary contribution they have made to civic life at Wycombe District Council.

The Roll of Honorary Aldermen can only be awarded to a councillor who is no longer serving as a member of the Council and has served as a member of the Council and/or its former constituent authorities for at least 15 years in total and has given exceptional service during that period.

The decision to offer election to the Roll of Honorary Aldermen to Mr Pushman and Mr Cartwright was taken at the last Council meeting on 28th April 2014.
