Lightning strike damages two semi-detached houses

Two semi-detached houses in Seven Hills Road, Iver Heath were damaged by a fire caused by a lightning strike during the early hours of Saturday 14th June 2014.

At 2.46am Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue were alerted to the incident. Five fire appliances with crews were despatched to the incident with appliances coming from Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Langley and Hillingdon fire stations.

Two hose reels, two jets, four sets of breathing apparatus and a 10.5 metre ladder were used during the operation to extinguish the fire.

The roof was 50% damaged by fire, the first floor was 25% damaged by fire, there was also smoke and water damage to the ground floor.
