Body of teenager recovered from the River Thames near Marlow

The body of a teenager has been recovered from the River Thames near Marlow.

Thames Valley Police Officers were called to a report of a person in difficulties in the river near Gossmore Lane at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 22nd July 2014. A search of the river was conducted with members of the fire and ambulance services.

Water Rescue Units from Beaconsfield fire station and Berkshire attended along with one fire appliance and crew from Marlow fire station and two fire appliances with crews from High Wycombe fire station.

At just after 8.00pm on the evening of Tuesday 22nd July 2014 officers from the the Thames Valley Police Specialist Search and Rescue Team recovered the body of the boy who is believed to be a 13-year-old from the Marlow area.

The death is not believed to be suspicious at this stage and Police officers are preparing a report on the incident to be handed over to the coroner.

The next of kin have been informed.
