Two years in prison for ex-carer who robbed 95 year old while they slept

A former carer from High Wycombe has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for committing a burglary at the home of a deaf 95 year old while the victim was asleep upstairs.

Overnight on Tuesday 1st April 2014 the offender burgled the vulnerable elderly victims house in Prestwood. During the robbery a handbag containing £400 in cash was stolen from the victims bedroom while the victim was asleep and an Apple iPad was stolen from the lounge.

The offender had previously worked as a carer for the victim through a care company but left employment with the care company in January 2014. The offender travelled from her home address in High Wycombe and entered the victims house using information gained while previously working for the victim as a carer.

The offender was sentenced to two years in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday 22nd August 2014, she was also ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge.
