Fire Brigades Union announce more strike dates
The Fire Brigades Union, which is in dispute with the Government over pensions, has announced further strike dates.
Four continuous days of industrial action are planned from 6.00pm on Friday 31st October 2014 to 6.00pm on Tuesday 4th November 2014.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has plans which enable it to continue to provide an emergency response in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes during periods of industrial action. Emergency calls where lives are at risk will be prioritised.
Firefighters in England and Wales have been taking part in strikes to protect their pensions since September 2013. The short video, below, produced by the Fire Brigades Union in the summer of 2014 prior to last round of Industrial Action explains why industrial action has been necessary. Despite months of negotiations there has be no improvement offered for English firefighters.
