19 year old man from High Wycombe charged with terror related offences

A 19 year old man from High Wycombe appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 20th November 2014, after being charged with terror related offences.

The man has been charged with with intending to commit acts of terrorism and being jointly engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to their intention, contrary to section 5(1) of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Today was the fourteenth and final day which police could hold the 19 year old without bringing charges.

It is understood the charges relate to an alleged plan to behead a member of the public in the UK, possibly using knives.

The 19 year old appeared in court alongside a 21 year old man from Hounslow and a 27 year old from Hayes all of whom were arrested by anti-terrorist police on 9th November 2014.

The men arrived at court in heavily armoured prison vans flanked by unmarked police cars with flashing blue lights and sirens.

All three men were remanded in custody to appear the Central Criminal Court on 4th December 2014.
