Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) are still undertaking lots of work on the road network in Buckinghamshire, with potholes, street light repairs, gully emptying and minor repair work going on.

In addition, TfB completed work on a larger scale scheme at Wycombe Road, Saunderton.

Foot way works continued in the following locations:

Eastwood Road, Stokenchurch
Oak Green, Aylesbury
Old Slade Lane, Iver
Stag Lane, Great Kingshill
Fassets Road, Loudwater
Dandridge Drive/ Millside, Bourne End

The TfB LED replacement programme continued as well with 1152 lanterns replaced with new, efficient LED lamps. The scheme is 44.5% complete. The Christmas embargo has now shut down work on major roads, so the crews will be back after the Christmas season in January 2015.

Next week’s work is significantly reduced due to the Christmas embargo, however we are still able to carry out smaller works on minor roads.
The TfB Patching Programme begins next week – In March 2014, the Government announced the creation of a £168 million pothole fund available to highway authorities in England to help repair damage to local roads. After a successful bid, TfB were awarded £1.4million to target known pothole sites for repair. Over 230 sites were assessed and a list of 132 sites drawn up for treatment. Sites have been chosen on the following criteria :
– Sites that the severe weather recovery scheme fund didn’t cover
– Known sites that suffer with a number of potholes
– Local Area Technicians’ knowledge of their local areas

Works will be carried out by our supply chain partners and the majority will require road closures. Works will run from December 2014 until March 2015 and will consist of patching works; from 1m² to 140m², depending on the site requirements.
