Hairdressing students at Amersham & Wycombe college inspired by Dick Whittington
Hairdressing students from Amersham & Wycombe College took inspiration from the current pantomime performance of Dick Whittington running at the Wycombe Swan for their latest hairdressing work.
Students got into character om Monday15th December 2014 to show off their hairdressing skills at the College’s new Inspire learning centre in High Wycombe town centre.
The event was open to the public, who were able to see the transformations to create the four mail characters in the pantomime. Student Joanne Collins emerged as the Fairy, Shireena Harris took on a very convincing role as Dane the Cook, Rachel Carter morphed into Dick Whittington and Olivia Butler got into the role of Dick’s cat.
The work involved much more than convincing hairstyles with the students pulling out all of the stops with costumes to match.
Students produced the work as part of their VTCT level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing course which is run at the High Wycombe campus in Flackwell Heath. The course provides learners with the necessary skills to go into work as an advanced hairdresser.
