Occupant puts out fire started when sky lantern fell onto house in Homer Green

At 1.00am on the morning of Thursday 1st January 2014 a sky lantern fell on to a section of a single storey roof at a two storey house in Beech Tree Road, Holmer Green.

The occupant of the house was still up at the time and heard a bump when the sky lantern landed, they also saw a flame. The quick thinking occupant then extinguished the fire using glasses of water in order to prevent damage to the property.

At 1.44pm on Friday 2nd January the occpant of the house called the fire brigade to inform them of the incident so it was officially recorded.
