Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 York City

York City were the latest team to challenge League Two leaders, Wycombe Wanderers.

York came, they played and they lost. It’s a simple as that.

The first half was entertaining however despite the best efforts of both teams the score was 0-0 at half time.

In the opening moments of the second half of the game a headed goal from Fred Onyedinma in the forty seventh minute gave Wycombe the match clinching goal.

After today’s game, the twenty fifth league game of the season, the Blues are still leading League Two with fifty points, one point clear of their second placed rivals Burton Albion.

The match statistics show it was an even game with 50% possession for each team however Wycombe achieved seventeen shots (nine on target) on goal to York’s four (two on target). Both teams each had eight corners however Wycombe committed nine fouls to York’s six.

The attendance at Adams Park was 3,669.
