Wycombe Wanders could only manage a goalless draw playing away against Mansfield Town on Saturday 24th January 2015.
However the Wanderers still hold on to the top spot in League Two and have extended their unbeaten run to ten games.
There were attempts on goal but neither side found the back of the net. Mansfield nearly took the lead in the first few minutes but Vadaine Oliver’s header hit the goal post.
Shortly before half time Billy Kee made three attempts on the Wycombe goal but Wycombe keeper Matt Ingram kept the ball out.
In the seven minutes of extra time added at the end of the game Matt McClure managed to get past Mansfield’s defence but his shot lacked the power to give Wycombe the win.
Possession was even with 49% to Wycombe and 51% to Mansfield. Wycombe managed nine shots on the Mansfield goal (four on target) compared to Mansfield’s fourteen attempts on the Blues goal (three on target). During the game there were twenty six fouls committed, ten by Wycombe and sixteen by Mansfield players. The referee booked eight players, five from Wycombe Wanders and three from Mansfield.
The game may not have been the most exciting that Wycombe have played this season but they came away with points and still head up League Two.
The attendance at Field Mill was 2,759.
