Five and a half years in prison for 19 year old who bit off part of a boys ear
A 19 year old man of Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe has been sentenced to five and half years’ imprisonment after being found guilty of assault.
After a three day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court in October 2014 the man was found guilty by jury of one count of wounding with intent.
On Thursday 26th Mach 2015 he was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court to 66 months’ detention in a young offenders’ institution.
The sentence related to an incident that occurred at around 8.00pm on Wednesday 23rd October 2013 in Fryers Lane Park, Fryers Lane, High Wycombe during which the man assaulted a 17-year-old boy and bit a chunk of the victim’s ear off.
The injury required multiple surgery procedures and the victim has been left with permanent scarring.
The man was arrested on Thursday 24th October 2013 and charged on Tuesday 15th April 2014.
Det Con Chris Hatton from Force CID at High Wycombe police station said: ‘This was a vicious attack on a young man who has been left permanently disfigured. This sentence reflects he severity of the attack and shows how offences such as this are not acceptable and will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police.‘
