Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Morecambe
It was a game Wycombe Wanderers desperately needed to win, but the early season form that propelled Wycombe to such great heights seems to have deserted them in recent games.
In a huge blow to their automatic promotion hopes Wycombe Wanderers lost to Morecambe by a single goal during their match at Adams Park on Saturday 25th April 2015.
Despite holding Morecambe for most of the match disaster struck in the eighty sixth minute when Paul Mullin headed, from the centre of the box, in to the top right corner of the Wycombe goal.
The Blues may have had more ball possession, 55%, compared to 45% for Morecambe however the Chairboys could only manage seven shots on goal (two on target) compared to thirteen (nine on target) for Morecambe.
Following today’s game Wycombe now slip to fifth position in League Two and out of the automatic promotion places.
To have any chance of automatic promotion Wycombe must now beat Northampton in their next and final game of the season and hope their rivals all loose.
Dreams of automatic promotion are rapidly turning into nightmares of the play-off battles that lay ahead.
The attendance at Adams Park was 5,177.
