Man, 25, convicted of sexually assaulting two women in the Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe

A 25 year old man of Chalk Farm Road, High Wycombe has been convicted of sexually assaulting two women and assaulting another woman in the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe.

The man was convicted of one count of assault by beating and two counts of sexual assault by touching at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21st April 2015.

On Thursday 9th October 2014 the man was walking around the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe when he approached three young women. He sexually assaulted two and put his arm around another woman and asked for a date.

The man pleaded guilty to the offence of assault by beating and was found guilty of the two cases of sexual assault. He was charged with the offences on Saturday 11th October 2014.

Investigating officer, PC Richard Lunn, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the victims who have shown great courage and bravery in coming forward to report these offences.

Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and we have specially-trained officers who can assist victims to come forward as well as support them through the ongoing process.

The shopping centre security, team’s evidence proved vital in securing the conviction and I would like to extend my thanks to the witnesses, some of whom came forward as a direct result of media coverage. [The convicted man’s] behaviour was predatory and disturbing; his conviction is very much welcomed.

The convicted man is due to be sentenced at the same court on Tuesday 12th May 2015.
