Fatal crash on M40 between Junction 1a (M25 interchange) and Junction 2 (Beaconsfield)

At around 3.30am on Friday 1st May 2015 a fatal collision involving a car and a lorry occurred on the Northbound carriageway of the M40.

The collision, between a white DAF lorry and a white Mercedes car,  occurred between Junction 1a (M25 interchange) and Junction 2 (Beaconsfield).

Paramedics attended the scene but the 26 year old man, from the Reading area, who was driving the Mercedes died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry, a 53 year old man, was uninjured.

Firefighters were called at 3.43am, one fire appliance with crew attended from Gerrards Cross fire station together with one from Hillingdon fire station as well as an officer.

Sgt Ed Crofts from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: ‘We are very keen to hear from anyone who was travelling on that stretch of road, either north or southbound, at that time and may have seen the collision or either vehicles prior to the incident to please call us as a matter of urgency.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to please contact Julie Hunt from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101 quoting URN 150 1/5.

At 2.15pm on Friday 1st May 2015 there had been no arrests and no one has been reported for any offences.
