Distraction burglary in Desborough Road, High Wycombe

On Tuesday 26th May 2015, at approximately 5.00pm, a man and a woman entered the premises of NN News on Desborough Road, High Wycombe and claimed to be from the Custom and Excise with a search warrant for illegal cigarettes.

The woman prevented other people entering the shop while the man searched various cupboards,. During the search the man took cash from inside the cupboards and then both left the shop. A third man was with them and chatted to the owner as the cupboards were searched, he also then left the shop.

The victim only realised money had been taken after the offenders left and he reported it to the police.

The first offender is described as a man in his forties, white, 5ft 9ins, slim with brown hair. He was wearing a brown jacket, green shirt with dark trousers. The second offender was a woman in her late twenties, white, with black shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a black top and black trousers.

A 33 year old man from Windsor has been arrested for burglary and bailed until Tuesday 21st July 2015.

Investigating officer, Det Con Kim Woods of Force CID High Wycombe, said: ‘This was a distressing incident for the victim. I would ask anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police on 101.
