Wycombe Wanderers 2-3 Northampton Town
Wycombe Wanders may be high flyers in League Two at the moment but they were brought down to earth when they played Northampton Town on Saturday 3rd October 2015.
Luke O’Nien opened the scoring for Wycombe with a goal in the second minute however Northampton were not deterred and in the thirty fifth minute Marc Richards, Northampton’s captain, scored to put the visitors back in the game.
Northampton took the lead in the forty seventh minute from a headed goal from Lawson D’Ath. Just four minutes later, Shaun Brisley scored a third goal for Northampton from a header off the post.
Danny Rowe scored Wycombe’s second goal in the eighty second minute to make the defeat look a little more respectable.
Despite losing Wycombe had more ball possession at 54% however of their eight shots on goal Northampton placed five on target compared to just two of Wycombe’s five shots being on target.
The match saw thirty five fouls, nineteen from Wycombe players and sixteen from Northampton.
Wycombe are now second in League Two with twenty one points from eleven games.
The attendance at Adams Park was 4,227 (597 from Northampton).
