Wycombe Museum to re-open on Tuesday 1st December 2015
Wycombe Museum will re-open to the public on Tuesday 1st December 2015 following extensive refurbishment work.
The museum has been closed to visitors since Monday 8th June 2015.
With better access for disabled visitors, an open-plan café, museum shop, free wi-fi service and additional toilet facilities the revamped museum will provide an enhanced experience for visitors.
Following the refurbishment work a full class of school children will be able to use the events learning room.
The Grade II listed building has also been given a facelift throughout and the museum’s internationally renowned trademark chair collection will be shown off in a new look exhibition.
To mark the reopening the museum will feature a new exhibition entitled ‘Wycombe in 10 Objects’.
The following events are scheduled to take place at the museum during December 2015 :
- Sunday 6th December 2015 : Victorian Festive Fun
- Saturday 19th December 2015 : Festive Foliage Adults Workshop
- Tuesday 22nd December 2015 : Christmas Crafts
The refurbishment of Wycombe Museum is part of Wycombe District Council’s planned £500m redevelopment programme of investment in the district’s future.
When Wycombe Museum reopens it will be under the new management of the Wycombe Heritage and Arts Trust (WHAT).
The museum is located in Priory Avenue, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP13 6PX.
