Household waste from the Chiltern District Council area to be taken to High Heavens Waste Transfer Station from Mon 30th Nov 2015

| November 30, 2015

From Monday 30th November 2015 waste in black bins and purple sacks from Chiltern District Council households will now be taken to the High Heavens Waste Transfer Station near High Wycombe.

Residents in the Chiltern District Council area should be aware that the collection times of non recyclable waste may change as Chiltern waste trucks will face longer journeys from the point of collection to the High Wycombe waste transfer station which may causing delays in collections.

Residents in the Chiltern District Council area are being advised by Chiltern District Council that if their bin isn’t emptied at the usual time to leave the containers out as normal for when crews can get to you. The recycling collections will not be affected.

Once processing at the Heavens Waste Transfer Station the waste will be sent to Buckinghamshire County Council’s new energy from waste plant at Greatmoor in the north of the county where the district’s waste will be converted into enough energy to power 36,000 homes.

Further information on the Energy from Waste plant at Greatmoor can be found on the Buckinghamshire County Council website.
