England Women’s Touch Rugby Coach, Sammie Phillips, visited Amersham & Wycombe College’s Inspire Centre this week.
Sammie talked to sports students about her exploits and passed on valuable tips on how the England team prepared for the World Cup in Australia where Sammie and the team picked up bronze medals.
Sammie acts as an advisor for the England Touch Association and is the Thames Valley Touch Rugby, League Manager.
Previously Sammie has worked with HND Sports Tutor Richard Dean in the past and was invited in by him to explain to students how an elite campaign works from a sports psychology perspective.
‘This is the first time Sammie has spoken to students in a classroom and she was very enthusiastic about it,‘ said Richard. ‘The class were keen to ask questions about her sporting achievements and what it took to get to her level of play. I know they got a great deal out of her visit.‘
