Roadworks at the junction of Desborough Road/Avenue started TWO days earlier than expected

On the morning of Thursday 24th March 2016 long tailbacks built up on roads leading to the mini-roundabouts at the junction of Desborough Road and Desborough Avenue.

The tailbacks were due to contractors setting up temporary traffic lights for gas main repair works two days earlier than expected, the roadworks were not due to start until Saturday 26th March 2016.

By midday the contractors were seen packing up the traffic lights and earth digging equipment as they had started work earlier than permitted however road users and commuters got a taste of the delays that will come when the roads works start for real on Saturday.
