Girl, 17, and woman, 18, punched in the face during assault in the High Street at Aylesbury

Shortly after midnight on the morning of Saturday 7th May 2016 a 17 year old girl and an 18 year old woman were assaulted near Costa Coffee in the High Street at Aylesbury.

The victims were approached by two men who then pushed them to the floor and assaulted them. During the assault both the victims were punched in the face however neither required hospital treatment.

Police subsequently arrested two men on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and have been released on police bail until Saturday 18th June 2016.

Thames Valley Police officers would like to speak to witnesses who were in the High Street at the time and who saw the fight take place. They are hoping to hear from one witness in particular, a man who split both parties up.

PC Rachael Peddie, of the Aylesbury Response Team, said ‘This key witness is a man in his late 30s or early 40s, who is light-skinned and bald. He was wearing a dark short sleeved T-shirt and dark trousers or jeans. He appeared to be on his own, and spoke to the victims after he’d broken up the fight to check that they were OK.
