Wycombe Wanderers 0-2 Colchester United
Wycombe Wanderers welcomed Colchester United to Adams Park on Saturday 27th August 2016.
After making a poor start to the season Wycombe were looking to gain some urgently needed points however at half time the score was still goalless.
In the sixty third minute it was Colchester who took the lead through a goal from Chris Porter after he placed a cross from Sammie Szmodics into the back of the Wycombe net.
The visitors scored a second in the eighty second minute when Sammie Szmodics scored from outside the area.
Wycombe failed to redress the balance leaving Colchester to return home with a well deserved win and three points.
During the match each team managed eleven shots on goal however only one of Wycombe’s shots was on target compared to five of Colchester’s. Six of the Wycombe placers were booked during the game while not a single Colchester player attracted the attention of the referee.
The game was marred by thirty fouls, twenty one committed by Wycombe players and just nine by the visitors.
Wycombe are now nineteenth in League Two and heading towards the relegation zone with just five points from five games.
The attendance at Adams Park was 3,439 (503 from Colchester).
